Day 3
I found myself 3 years ago developing the desire and yearning to fall in love with God. I had expected too much from humans. God should have been the first choice. So I began to pray and ask God to reveal his love. Help me study it. Feel it. & Preach it! Hence, my desire to tell EVERYONE about the love of God.
I couldn’t “feel” God. The reason for that was because I didn’t pray much and I wasn’t building a relationship with him. The truth is I was using God as a personal genie😔😕. I never consider the fact that he actually wanted to know me too! Honestly, I viewed prayer as a contact to God when I was in trouble or needed something; then I can pray and ask😔. How selfish? But I really believed that.
FAST FORWARD TO DELIVERANCE———–>
The moment I began to pray, I also began to get closer to him. It was like my eyes were open and I began to see things from a different perspective. I wanted to be better and I desired life and love! Love for mankind. I wanted to know more about God; my spirit yearn for the closeness and this new found peace.
These moments revealed to me that God could carry me through ANY issues that were heavy, and then I learned I don’t have to fight anymore. I am learning to rely on his instructions before I move ( hard one!!). My faith has been increased.
What does prayer mean to you?
For me, prayer time is a special moment when I can hide and spend time with the one who will forever love me. The one who remains unchanging, the one who created me so that he can love me!! Prayer is how I communicate with God, and how God communicates with me.
To the people who feel like prayer doesn’t work, I totally understand that feeling. Not so long ago I felt the same way. However, I am willing to bet they do not have an active prayer life. Saying prayer doesn’t work, means they are praying with the expectation that everything will go the way they want it to, instead of Gods way. He is our true father, and just like our human parent God is going to do what is best!! If we had this thing figured out we wouldn’t need his perspective and the world wouldn’t be so damaged.
While praying tonight ask God to help you get to know him. Ask him to reveal his loving nature and true character.
Your spirit misses God when you do not spend time talking to him.
